What it is
Illyriad is a free HTML5 grand strategy game from London-based Illyriad Games, officially launched in May 2011 after a 2010 alpha. You found and specialise cities on a huge hand-drawn map, research hundreds of technologies, craft and trade more than 380 goods on a wholly player-driven market, and field armies, thieves and assassins against over a hundred NPC factions and rival alliances. The developers reject pay-to-win and server resets, so the world simply keeps evolving. Month-long seasonal tournaments add alliance-level goals, and a Steam version also exists.
