What it is
Imperia Borealis is a browser strategy game from a two-person studio on Gotland, Sweden, set on that island's 92 historical parishes. You lay out an estate building by building, run carts along roads you draw yourself, send caravans to Visby and ships to Hanseatic ports, choose between the Aesir and Christianity, and raise militia, archers and knights against rival lords and bandits. Parish alliances vote on shared decisions, and everyone must pool armies to repel the pirate Störtebeker. Three-month seasons run on fresh maps alongside a permanent realm; Season 2 runs from 4 September to 4 December 2026.
